Bob, you are not being argumentative at all. It takes serious discussion to help get correct research done. I cannot do it all.

I believe your numbers over mine for the Maxim Quad M-4. I wondered if the weight of the system was not too light, it seemed more like the weight of ONE Maxim MG, but I did not have time to cross reference.

As for the Flak 38/Schwimwagen...supposedly it is a real photo. No one ever said the gun was fired, but there are citings of some test reports (sorry, I cannot find them, I don't research much German stuff...tend to be enough of "those guys" around) plus photos of a 2 cm gun mounted on a Kuebelwagen. Another report discusses an attempt to get a Kuebelwagen to tow a 3,7 cm PaK - failure. There are supposed to be documents to prove that there was a FlaK-Versuchszug (Schwimmer w/2 cm) in 24. PzDiv. And I have heard mention of another report that describes usage of 2 cm gun on Schwimwagen, a Kettenkrad (no kidding!), and RSO (I have seen pictures of this).

There have been models built of it: http://www.armorama.co.uk/forums/178531

It is a wacky, crazy world, and as I said...desperate Germans at the end of WWII.

Just an observation. The ZIS with the K-61 , twin 37 looks to be a ZIS 5. Front axle looks to be a straight axle. No "pumpkin" or other signs of a drive system. Also looks like an early one. Seems to have front brakes.

Way different. Frenchy's pic is a ZIS 32. Note the front wheel drive train. Also fenders are much higher over tires. Other photo is 2 wheel drive.

OOOPS I thought you were talking about this picture :

Should have read your post more carefully

According to Wikipedia the ZiS-12 is just a long wheelbase ZiS-5...

On a side note, the pictured guns you're talking about are KM-94 25mm guns. Here's another view :

The longer wheelbase is noticeable.

Yes, Frenchy is absolutely right - ZiS-12 is 4x2 long wheelbase version of ZiS-5 truck. Also it has lowered cargo bed.
