I hope it really will be an all-styrene AFV Club kit (as the number suggests) and not Ding-hao or Hobby Fan partially resin kit (with plastic parts from their M35 kit included). I don't mind resin kits, but plastic kit will obviously be cheaper.

Are you sure about this? I thought it was more than 23 years ago ... but sometimes time seems to pass faster than it actually does. Only 23 years ..... amazing ....

The shop tools could become a mini-kit in themselves.

Guess then there's still a chance that their M8 HMC is still in the works too!

It's been so long now about 23 years, but it seems now that it was only yesterday... Gee, ain't it funny how time slips away. I gotta go now, But remember what I tell you... Now someone has to come out with realistic motor sergeant and mechanic figures. Each one has to be over-sized (sorry scale purity guys but all the ones I knew were tall and/or over weight)

AND a lot more clutter. Much more clutter.

C'mon, we can do better than that!

Otherwise: Nice one, let's hope it's gonna see the light of day as an actual kit to be purchased from a real dealer...

Looks a lot like the ones we used in 76 to 80. One of ours had an injector test bench at the cab end that took up about 1/3 of the space. Many component rebuilds come to mind.

Soooo tempting! We had two of these in my DS FA Bn in the early 70's although oddly they weren't allocated to any of the Maintenance sections. Those had regular M-35A1s with plywood "hootches" built up in the cargo bed. And only ONE of the two we had was "legal". That one was assigned to the Radar Section as prime mover and control center for the AN/MPQ-4 Radar. Since I doubt very much that anybody is going to make one of those and I don't think I'll scratch build one, I'll probably (very reluctantly) pass on this. Oh, the OTHER one we had? That was an excess vehicle that wasn't on the property book, and somehow "accidently" got converted into the Bn CO's personal CP/Field Quarters. It was always so funny when we had our IG inspection and that vehicle would "disappear" on the road while the inspectors were around.

The engineer units I was in Nam always seemed to have a few mystery vehicles that weren't on the books. They just appeared! Wayne

The two our maintenance section had were wooden cabins built on regular M35A2 but had all the stuff inside shown here. The only regular shop vans were in battalion and carefully guarded.

The bumper codes changed over time as first they were assigned to battalion but seconded to us so had our company codes. Then they were made a detachment so had it changed to HQ-DET-##.

I even saw them rebuilding one wooden rear cabin to make it taller so the tall motor sergeant could stand up in the back. I think that was the one I was detailed to repaint. Here's a brush, do the forest green...

Guess some folks don't like it when others have something to say.

It might seem confusing, but in fact, what some folks don't like -or get bored by- is people asking "why not" any other kit in every single new release...

There are even specific posts here in Armorama to share whatever vehicle we'll like/expect to see in plastic in any given future.
But since that seems to have no practical effect, some of us might start a poll about how long will it take for the earliest comment asking for something different in future "News" posts.
No offense...

But what they don't like don't mean a hill of beans with some ones ability to make a comment. This isn't a dictatorship page. Its for all model builders. If they don't want folks to comment on a topic then don't post it. There are tabs on this site that only some can see. If they don't like comments and think they are above everyone else then take it there. Last I knew they don't pay for this site. AFV Club is making this kit not them and the post was directed to them. And yes they watch them for ideas, as matter of fact I posted something about a Trump kit and happen to also send a pm on their fb page and they said they absolutely seen it. So the ones that don't like it can know that ideas from us, the comments they don't like are being seen. So get over it or start your own site. Call it the haters club.
