DS is Dragon Styrene - only used by Dragon. So wahtever material these tires are, they are certainly not DS.

May be a silly question, but what are these 'things' in front of the bonnet?
And where do we find a more detailed view on the brakelines and motor details, please?
Thanks in advance.

Thunder Model states that their version will come with ropes, cables etc. I haven't seen them in the review above. Not there?
Furthermore, I can't see decals for the interior like red crosses for the first aid kit and instruments.
Too picky?

Dear Pawel,
Since Thunder Model expressed their disappointment about the parallel release by IBG I presume that their version will appear rather soon....
Seeing the low amount of reactions this British vehicle doesn't steer up modeling emotions. Hopefully this will not lead to a lack of upgrading sets or more decals.
Cheers,
Paul

They appear to me to be radiators.

Hi Carl,

Yep, counter weights. You may recall seeing farm tractors with a series of counter weights hanging on the front of the vehicle. Many farm tractors have enough tourque to literally turn themselves over if the driver is not careful. In this case these weights help counter the load of anything the vehicle is towing/lifting and help keep the front wheels on the ground.

Michael,
First: thanks for the explanation.
Second: since you seem to be a WW2 truck specialist: where do I find break line schedules?

I would say to search the Internet for the Scammell technical manual. My first goal would be to confirm if this vehicle had mechanical or hydraulic brakes.

I believe there are manuals, but either for sale or you pay something for online access. Maybe folks from these fora may share an answer or two:

Historic Military Vehicle Forum
In the second forum, there was a thread on a restoration work.

Got mine in mail on saturday
Tires are full styrene, cab has an interior. And I think it's stirring up more emotion than many other kits having update sets... and why crying for AM sets already without even seeing what's actually in the box? Mine looks like an OOB candidate...
Decals: They put in a lot: German, Russian, US, British... (would have to check for others still, cab as well -> need to check again)

As to brakes on the Scammell check out Alex Hill's beautiful build at:

Paul, Looks like only the rear two axles had brakes and they were mechanical not hydraulic.

Nice to hear the tyres are styrene. I hate this trend some companies have with vinyl tyres (AFV Club cough, cough)

Funny you say that as I fee exactly the opposite. I like vinyl tires a lot more as I find them easier to work with.
