Hi! Just wanted to share ith you one of my builds. Comments and critic is welcome!
During the first stages of the Bundeswehr operations in Afghanistan, German special forces (KSK - Kommando Spezialkräfte) had to use US Army lent humvees. They stripped them from their doors, windscreens and anything that thought wasn't necessary. There aren't too many pictures of these vehicles and the ones I could find were really low quality, so much of this project had to be deduced. Here are some reference photogrphas.
The kit I used was a really old ESCI one from my childhood which had been completely destroyed, so there was a lot of recycling done. Hope you enjoy it. Cheers!

Although the model is pretty well painted and the handmade elements are very good, the choice of ESCI as a base made it look quite curiously Very strange in the side view, very inaccurate, ugly wheels... Of couse it's not Your fault, ESCI has made teriible mistakes in designing, also it's just and old kit... But why choose such a set at all? Pity
This large package on the engine hood effectively limits the driver's field of view.

Considering the kit used, and we all use what we have, I think you've done a very good job on it. Weathering is great and matches the limited photos of the KSK Humvee. I read before that they had decorated some with Africa Korps stencils but could never find any pics.
Edit: Kuba is right about the pack on the bonnet...it should go 😊

Good effort, but I agree with Kuba and Sean. The base Esci HMMWV kit is horrible and really hurts your efforts. The angle of the hood is all wrong; it slopes too steeply from the windshield to the front. The wheels and tires are horrible too. This would be much better if you had used either a Tamiya or Academy kit to start with.

I completely agree with the quality of the kit (think it was the only humvee available when I bought it), but this was just a question of throwing away that old kit or trying to do something interesting with it. I'll probably re-do the theme with a new and more accurate base kit sometime!
