I am about to commence with Academy's M60A2 Starship for the Landships Campaign.
One thing that has been keeping me awake at night (ok thats a bit dramatic) is painting the MERDC Camouflage pattern when I get to it.

Any advice would be helpful.

You can certainly just do it green if you prefer.

For MERDC, usually the two major colors (forest green and field drab in the winter verdant scheme above) were usually sprayed on, and the two lessor colors (black and sand squiggles) were usually hand painted. The same can be done in 1/35 using and airbrush for the two major colors and brush painting the two lesser colors.

That is how I have painted MERDEC- Base color green, field drab both with airbrush then hand brush the sand and black. The sand and black are pretty minor colors in the scheme-and it allows you to "fix" any odd overspray from the first 2 colors.

Remember that the pattern is not random however - I have drawings somewhere but I think there is a full set on the web now if you search.

Pinch some Battle of Britain Hurricane paint from your aircraft building mates and use that for the two main colors. You can omit the Sand color too and just apply the black squiggles if you choose the right unit.
