Since the Tamiya Panther Ausf. A is not an not such a good kit, and I am almost done with it, could I put it in Russian markings?

So to give it the appearance of a captured Panther

I don't know of any reason not. I know that the Brits used a couple of captured Panthers and I've seen pictures of StuGs with red stars on them. If the other guy doesn't want it anymore, use it to beat him over the head with!

The Soviets captured so many Panthers by '45 that they had entire Panther units. Strengths unknown, but I've seen a pic with what looked like at least two squadrons.

I've seen pictures of Panthers captured by the Russians repainted in what looks like Soviet armor dark green and large white stars. I think that the Concord book on panthers has some of those images.

the russians used them for testing and oyu could fill it full of holes as if Its on a gunnery range, the British also made them after the war for testing purposes BTW the old Hanomag factory in Hannover which made them is now a massive nightclub and has a smaller club called the rose club inside and the the Krefeld factory was used for a number of years by the Royla Engineers as a materials park

as has been said already the russians used large numbers of panthers,

warmachine, the scheme you refer to i beive would be cuckoo, the british machine used ny the coldstream guards.

the few pics ive seen of russian panthers show them with red soviet stars on the turret

cheers

On Page 70 of Concord's book on Panthers by Anderson and Wai there are two pictures of Soviet Panthers with large white 3-digit turret numbers and stars that appear to be the same color. There is also a color plate in the center color section showing one of these schemes. All of them are Panther A's with zimmerit and ball mounted hull mg's and the crews standing on them are clearly Russian. If the stars on these tanks are red, it's would have to be an almost pink color because they appear in black and white to be the exact same shade as the turret numbers.
