After watching the recent parade of North Korean armour. I have to say there are alot of very interesting vehicles. I certainly hope some manufacturers are taking note. That said I imagine it would be next to impossible to get up close and meacsure and scan any of these beasts.

Hello Doug,
I agree with you. There were some interesting vehicles/systems on display. I wonder if all of them were serviceable or if they did what the Soviets were known to do during their May Day parades?
What did you think of the Pokpung-ho tank? I was looking at a close up and it appears as if they have mounted a twin barrel remote weapon on the turret. It was hard to see it initially as it blended into the missile launchers.
Respectfully,
Allen

The twin weapon looks like a twin AGL/GMG, quite small calibre. Barrel doesn't look large enough for the established Chinese 35mm round. My bet is the new Chinese 20mm grenade used in the ZH-05 "OICW" or a copy of the S Korean 20mm grenade from their K11 "OICW". Those may be one and the same as little is yet known about the Chinese round. Russian 30mm seems unlikely.
As far as kits are concerned, we're back into Cold War standards of kits of Warsaw Pact gear based only on photos scaled from known objects and speculation. Of course if North Korea truly were as mighty as they like to make out then they would gladly make extremely high-quality kits of their military hardware to overawe the capitalist imperialist Western warmongers envious of N Korea's utopian society, agricultural and industrial might. But in the real world, to coin a phrase, it's not what you've got - it's what you do with it that counts. If, as is consistently postulated, N Korean armed forces are still stuck in the old Communist concept of fully centralised control with little or no tactical knowledge or initiative among personnel below General Officer level then they are likely to be very badly handled by the smaller but more agile and adaptive and technologically superior S Korean and US forces. But that's what Germany thought about Russia ........
