Hi!

This is my last project for Gb in a french forum.

First, the scout carrier is from Resicast.
Base color painted with Vallejo Air.
Weathering with oil paints and vaiois pigments.










The figures are from Stalingrad and painted with oil. (in progress)










The tree is from Black Army Modells.

That paint job is brilliant. It has to be one of the best universal carriers Ive seen. Excellent.

I agree with Paul,that is a great carrier and the figs are nice as well.

Wow, it's amazing.

That Bren Carrier is beautiful. Undoubtedly the best one I've ever seen. The weathering is bang on for a vehicle that's seen heavy usage. The foliage etc on the dio base is fantastic. I really look forwrad to seeing the end result as this is shaping up to be an incredible build.

the bren carrier’s a work of art on its own. Being a pedantic s.o.b. I’d suggest it should be pointing the other way though, unless it was reversed into its abandoned position – looks like the tree’s in the way of a forwards approach as it stands. However it got there, its tracks would have crushed the plants/grass under them. Alternatively the positions of the carrier & the tree could be swapped around. Mere details I know, it’s superb already

Dioramartin, you're right but in my mind I wanted to show that the Scout had been pushed from the road to the ditch. That's why I damaged the low side, as if you had pushed the vehicle sideways.


Below are the photos that inspired me.

Now it makes sense! The ground work is appropriate.
I would use the opportunity to point one (unintended?) detail, fairly unnoticed until now. The older genleman's suitcase is painted in "invasion stripes" as an omen/prediction of what is to cone in next 4 years!

In fact, i'm belgian and my surname is from Nederlands.
In English, the same word is "nightingale".
It's a litlle bird like this one :


In french, we call this bird "Rossignol"!

Amazing work on both the Bren and the figures. I like how the civilians all have that bewildered, "What do we do now?" look on their faces.

Ah of course, the “-gael” intrigued me as it didn’t seem German, or French. At least you know yours, blood-feuds abound amongst those with my surname about its origin – the saint,or soldier,or…the bird.

Nice scene telling a simple yet effective story.
Right away it has great overall balance: on one side a good sized tree w/ a basic vertical fig, and the other side a smallish vehicle (excellently done too) w/ a couple who seem to have a bit more going on than the others. And centering it all is a mother and child being forced from their home, a crime in itself, carrying only a single tattered suitcase. Nice job w/ the deep red coat BTW.
And having the single female fig on the right side slightly back from the edge, kinda like no one really knows where they'll be ending up.

Gotta love the references as well!
