Fantastic work - this is the one I said I liked the best on the competition winner pages. What I find interesting is how stark the writing is on the original photo - I'm sure if the model had reproduced that people would have said that it didn't look real.

Love the job that you did, though I haven't a clue about the message on the tank destroyer as to what it meant and why they'd bother writing it on a clearly-destroyed AFV...

Double ditto on the work. As far as the writing goes G.I.'s loved to do that sort of thing. Pretty much an 'up yours' to the Germans. 'Spearhead' is the nickname of the 2nd Armored Division so I suspect this has something to do with them.

Hi all,
Made an error in my previous post. 'Spearhead' is actually the nickname of 3rd Armored Division. The 2nd of course is 'Hell on Wheels'. So 3rd Armored is probably responsible for the condition this Jagdpanzer IV finds itself in.

I agree with all on this one. This is by far one of the best modelled destroyed vehicles I've ever seen. Great work on the various rust and burnt effects...

Wrong! "Spearhead" was the nickname of 3rd AD, which didn't seem to get the press that 3rd Armored did. The photo that inspired this great replica was in their unofficial history, "Spearhead in the West," published in Germany in 1946.

And I would agree that the chalked on (?) graffiti is very clear on the original published version and is well reproduced here. Very nice work!
