Here are my two kits that I recently completed. The first is a Tamiya Wespe. Great kit, no complaints. Other than the wheels keep falling off, so I glued them. And the tracks were a bit tricky to get on. I mean that in terms of being a little tight.

The second, is the Wirbelwind. Great kit, not really any problems at all. Very easy build and highly reccomended. Both were painted with Model Master "Custom Enamel System" paints, using a mix of two airbrushes. Pictures were taken in my grandparents back yard with a temp of 40. Beautiful day if I say so myself.

And always, Let me know what you think. Thanks!

nice chip, are these for AGE?

I have one thought though,
the bow machine guns ball mounting looks a little "fake", if you know what I mean. Maybe next time your could use one from the bitz box?

just a thought :-)

Nice job I like both kits. The camo is well done.
I personally would like to see a bit more wash in the creases and nooks and crannies. It would accentuate the lines and details a bit more. Places I noticed are : leaf springs, road wheels, and drives compartment details on the Wespe and the wheels, transmission panels, gunners vision block on the turret.

I think I commented on the Wirblewind before...the fire extinguisher has some mold seam son it. The 20mm barrles are drilled out (good) but the ends need a touch of the emery board to clean them up. On the Wespe, for futer reference, try to cut he decal film as close as possible to the numbers. Build and paint are excellent in all other respects.

Camo's looks spot on.
And listening to the more experienced, there's tips for us all to learn.
I tend to agree the running gear on both needs a little more "muck".
Great post.
The snow really sets them off for viewing.

Cheers

Hi Chip:
Looks good. I would repeat the advice about the mold seams. When looking at model contest judges' lists, this is considered one of the "basics". It's a pain (especially with older kits) but necessary nonetheless.

If you want a terrically engineered kit w/very few mold seams, get any of the AFV Club Dodge trucks (there are three of them). Joy to build!

Believe it or not, you guys are helping me out. Your pointing out the stuff that I would normally pass over, but the judges would dock me for. Thanks again guys!

Hi Chip ...two nice models you have there ...I do agree with what the others have said ,and I'd like to give you a tip on how to drill out your barrels ....A trick I use to get them all straight is I use a brand new #11 blade in my exacto ...You place the piont directly in the middle and just twist the exacto as if it were a drill bit ....you'd be amazed at how easy it is to find the center and you can make the hole deeper because as the blade goes deeper it widens the hole coming as close as you want to the sides of your barrel. Your muzzels will look as good as an aftermarket barrel if you are careful.. I use this tip to drill out my machine gun barrels too...

Hey thanks for that tip! That makes so much sense. I was using a pin vise, it worked but as you can tell a little differant than the real barrels looked.

Thanks again!
