Hello fellow modellers!
Currently im building Dragon 6393 kit and Id like to depict jagdpanther hull number 303018 build by MNH in november 44.
I didnt manage to find too much info other then that i should use MNH rear stowage boxes. Do you know anything of this tank or any article or discussion about it? Also what tamyia acrylic color should i use for the red primer?
Is this camo scheme dragon indicates the one for this tank?
I will also do a build log after i get the aftermarkets.
Stefan

Looks like the one that was at APG, before repainting in the "ghost grey" era of the late-20th century. Apparently it was captured during the Ardennes offensive in late '44. The scheme in that photo could be original, so why Dragon calls it "eastern front" is anybody's guess. A quick googling turned up this website.

Im not questioning the truth of your info, but im quite surprised this took part in the ardennes. That camo looks a lot like latewar improvisation because of the paint shortages. Thank you for the info!

Wherever this picture was taken, has anyone noticed the prototype "Mk2" Sherman DD in the background? These were M4A2 76 HVSS with an improved flotation skirt and the metal side skirts to improve water performance. Intended to be built in USA for the Pacific campaign after VE Day. Less than 5 made it over to Europe.

Interesting ML thread! I am not sure about whether it is original or "retouched" (why would they bother?), but based on the capture pic it seems the scheme itself is an Ardennes one rather than a Russian Front one.
As for the Sherman DD mk2 and the Lee in the background, that was the joy of APG! Lots of goodies rusting in a field...

A good mix for primer red is 9 parts Hull Red to 1 part Wooden Deck Tan.

I searched the wonder that the internet is to find some more info on this jagdpanther. They say it was captured in the Ardennes offensive (as Tom noted) so i have no reason to believe its camouflage scheme contained red primer as there were no paint shortages in that time. But look at this photo.
Looking at it in BW made me think that the "red primer" we see in the color photo could actually be brown(maybe the camera didn't quite capture the colors right. (The dunkel gelb also look a bit lighter in color) Over the brown theres some white stripes (for the white camo they didnt really had time to do in ardennes). This combo would be muchg more logical for the Ardennes offensive.
In conclusion the camo I'm thinking the Aberdeen hunter feline had is the one on the bottom middle of the picture above. Dragon says it was western europe.
Soooo what do you guys think? I'm eager to read your opinion!
Now I don't know what to do. I really would have liked to do a red primer camo. If I'm going to continue this build I'm going to go with brown tho.
