Hi all,
I am looking for some detailed pictures about a generator or something similar to a generator, which is connected behind PZH2000. This can be viewed on pictures made in Afghanistan.
Thanks for reading me
Laurent

They get way back after maintenance has been performed and they do a test firing.

It`s not a generator but an A/C unit to keep the guns interior cool. Sometimes you can see a massive hose getting into the fighting compartment.

You can see the hose briefly around the 1:50 time mark.

I guess it will be difficult to obtain informations about the A/C unit. I need to put these topic on the list when I visit Tag der Bundeswehr in June.

One thing I don't know..... what are those blocks (and the purpose of they) atop the turret?

Current US SP howitzer is the M109A6 Paladin, which has the same lower hull as the M109A2, but a totally different turret.
The Phz 2000 is much larger though.
It is about the same size as what the Crusader Howitzer was supposed to be. The M200 Crusader was going to be based on an Abrams hull with a huge turret on top. It was cancelled a few years ago though.

If trusting Wikipedia for length x width x height:
PzH2000: 38'5" x 11'10" x 10'2"
M109A?: 30' x 10'4" x 10'8"

I remember them when I was at Ft Sill in 1980-1981.
The A2's I guess or A1's

The unit is a cooling unit from Weiss Technik. You can see the logo of the company on one of the pictures.
From the looks of it, it must be either ZKB-15 or ZKB-15-A10 model. Here is a link to a brochure:

I would prefer a Maredsous...
For future use, this is how I managed to find it:
I searched the site http://www.defence-suppliers.com/ for manufacturers of cooling units.
This lead me to Weiss Technik, and I managed to match their logo with the photos.
From then I searched their product line and found the particular cooling unit.
