For the Takom campaign I am going to build a Syrian Rebel T-55 that's seen better days on the highway/road. I have been doing a lot of you tube browsing to see what trucks are over there. I would like to get one of the new Diopark "rocket" trucks, but didn't locate any. I went the next step and got the Meng pick-ups. The idea is to have an abandoned technical and a larger truck of some sort in the scene. There was a very nice video of the Meng type older truck mounting a 50 cal with a large shield that I plan to do.
I went looking at the trucks available, Takom and Trumpeter mostly, but my knowledge of modern stuff is pretty thin. I'm sure the older GAZ 66 would be around and would work. Would the Takom T-3 bus things be another option? What trucks did the Syrians have? It does not have to be military, but a plastic kit. Thanks.

If you believe in Wiki, all sorts of Russki trucks should be there. Ural 375. Ural 4320 refueller. Zil 131 all available in 1/35.

volkswagen vans from Takom could be used, I build one but the body of the van I had was severely warped and a @#$$&^% to make, just for your info...
You might consider using the Fujimi Mitsubishi Canter trucks in 1/32, the difference in scale is hardly noticable, and they are really fun to make and age/weather.

Michel

I guess so
A UAZ-452 van would be OK as well (both plastic and resin 1/35 kits are available) :

You didn't locate any because it hasn't been released yet....

Michel,
Thanks for the tip. I got one of these coming, 27.50 with free economy shipping. With luck the ship will have a tail wind!

Oryx Blog used to have a Syrian vehicles page, but they took it down. There are still pages for Iranian, Cuban, Yemeni and North Korean vehicles.

Thanks H.P.,
I think the truck in the back is a KRAZ 255 and the other 2 are ZIL 131's. I googled Syrian Civil War Trucks but some of the pictures are old, and some show trucks I can't identify. There are some great ideas on you tube, but again the trucks are hard for me to identify.
So, there are kits of the URAL 375D, URAL 4320, KAMZ 4310, KRAZ 255, KRAZ 260, KRAZ 6322, ZIL 131, and those minivans.
I'll think about getting the vans for a later project. From what I've been able to find out I think either the ZIL 131 or the URAL 4320 are my best choices for an older but modern truck turned civilian.
There was a diorama with a Russian truck converted to civilian use that I was going to use as a base for a similar truck, but I can't seem to find it.

I know, wishful thinking on my part. With Diopark it's hard to know, since there is no website to visit.

I've seen the site, and down loaded a number of pictures of the Syrian T-55's. The T-72 blog is still there.

The truck that had me confused is the GAZ 3308. There are many in use, and sadly no model of that type yet. I'm sure there will be.
Thanks to all for your help, and I've learned a few things. The GAZ Tiger is being used in Syria since late 2015, and is the GAZ 39371. Not much on the GAZ 39371, but the Syrian Army likes the GAZ Tigers.
The Fuso Canter T200 is an older version of trucks more common today, but will work for me. What I would like to have is the "Carry" trucks, mini type trucks and vans seen everywhere, including with weapons mounted.
Didn't someone make one of the 3 wheelers? I looked and didn't see one, but my memory is fuzzy.
How about that FSA 122 on the Chevy HD truck! I doubt it lasted very long, but that is a specialized truck package.
Now that my head is clearing I might get working on the project.

H.P.,
Working miracles again, I found nothing on a google search. I'll check it out, but a plastic kit would be much better.
Thanks.

Several in 1/32 from Arii or Microace :

Also in 1/32 scale from Fujimi are forklifts, and more civilian stuff(if you're feeling adventures )
