More old junk from a manufacturer who refuses to leave the 1970's. I recently traded a modeler some of my resin items for a Tamiya Semovente SP gun and I was pissed when I opened the box that it was an old "Italeri" kit reboxed by Tamiya with some new figures. That really peeved me off since Tamiya is charging $40.00+ for that old Italeri kit. I have not purchased an Italeri kit since 1980's and I will never do so again as long as they continue to stay in the 1970's and still charge over $40.00 for that old junk. Who buys this old stuff anyway?
Both Tamiya and Italeri have had offerings each of the Italian M13 series Carro Armato and of the Semovente self-propelled gun since the 70's. I have built all, being a fan of Italian armor, and can say that the Italeri kits build into a more accurate rendition in both cases over the Tamiya offerings. I still have several in my stash choosing to pass on the Tamiya's. This ol' Italeri still stands the test of time and builds into a respectful model out of the box and dresses up nicely with the many resin, metal and PE enhancements now available. I'm only surprised to see this boxed with the Italeri label! I thought Italeri had sold the molds to Zvezda.
