Gentelmen,
I will be doing my first winter white wash on an old Sherman, and not quite sure what steps to take in the painting process.
I have the base coat and some high lighting done, so do I apply my future for decals and washes before the hairspray or after? would I apply a flat finish over the future, then hairspray and white paint? So confused.
Any help would be great!
Cheers,
-Chris

Do the decals, then seal in with a coat of Future. Let it cure, then apply your chipping/hairspray and immediately apply your whitewash. Make sure the coat is light enough for water to get through it to the chipping. Wet a brush, and start rubbing lightly to achieve the washed out look. Work in sections, you'll get better results. Once the hairspray completely sets up, it's really hard to get off. Good luck! (It's easy)

Go to You Tube and watch WW2 flkm footage of Battle of the Bulge footage etc and see what the US Army was doing i.e. brushed on, spray, mopped etc. That will guide your methods of modeling.
