Their Conqueror was unamusing enough to put me off another of their kits.

Was the kit that bad? Not a fan of paper tanks, but the E-100 looks so amazing, I need one^^.

Looks like Trumpeter will be doing one too, or at least they released a CAD image of one.

Finally a kit with the right turret, even two it seems with the Trumpeter CAD image released, that is not the scarce Rhino Models kit, though it somewhat bugs me the name they both use, as while it's technically true it's a Krupp turret, so was the Maus one, usually mistaken as being made by Porsche. Although I guess since Trumpeter did a fictional Henshel turret (that I guess Rinaldi based on the Tiger II "Henschel" turret, which was also made by Krupp, but in that fictional world Henschel made nonetheless), it makes more sense to differentiate it like that. And for some reason both still have the muzzle brake that was on the early Maus and Tiger-Maus concepts 15cm gun.

Can never have too many "What-if", or "Never-was" tanks!

From what I understand it used the 3D render from World of Tanks and not any measurements from the real vehicle.

I didn't find any problems with accuracy (though I didn't compare measurements with the real thing) and the fit was pretty good (except for the horrible gun tube which I replaced). The bad part of it was...it had more sink holes than Florida, some so big they destroyed the surrounding detail.Thankfully, the worst ones were in the inside suspension units. I would have e mailed AH for replacements but I was trying to get the kit finished for our model show. I probably used about half a tube of squadron green putty for the build. It looks ok once completed but it wasn't a fun build. Good points were the click together tracks and subtle texturing on the turret, bad points, sink holes (more like black holes) dreadful gun tube, poor etched brass and lack of mantlet cover (they suggest using tamiya yellow masking tape???? )

Wow, so there is technical cooperation going on between WarGaming and Amusing Hobby? I thought that sounds unlikely, but it certainly explains why AH has chosen such subjects so far. If that's really true, I hope they do some French heavy armor as well.
