looking to incorporate an mg 42 into a dio. however i havent been able to find any decent pics/info on how these used to be set up. behind sandbags, in bunkers on tripods...??
any info would be great

I wouldn't recommend the third picture from Graywolf because when you hold your left there when firing you would burn it.

you mean left HAND and you are right on that,that photo was posted to show the position of the sand bags.maybe this guy invented a internal cooling system for mg 42. :-)

I have seen this gun, and MG 34's being fired over the shoulder of a 2nd man, with that man holding the tripod (both in film footage and foto-shoots). Wether this was pure propaganda, I do not know... I certainly hope the second man had some earplugs....

Probably not. I've seen similar lips and photos. It's probably propaganda. Who in his right mind would be standing ,lugging a MG in the middle of a fire fight.
