So I've been reading WWP's "FMTV Trucks in Detail" and along with my M1083 and M198 I'd like to build something to carry the ammo, which seems to be an M1084 with M1095 trailer.

My question is... the M1084 (ignoring the A1R updates) appears to simply be an M1083 with a "shelf" at the rear that holds a MHC.

Would it be as simple as that? Use a M1083 kit, some styrene, and the MHC from the M977?

Along those lines... if I was to take the bed/chassis of an M1083 and combine it with the front end of the M1082... would that work to build the M1095?

I'm hoping for something fairly simple to make here. Maybe I'm off base?

It sounds like you are on the right track on all accounts. That is the beauty of the FMTV trucks. They are all modular and you can pretty much make any variant by combining parts from different vehicles.

You have to replace the drive axles of the truck trough rod axles, about 2,5 mm in diameter.
