Hello all,
I recently bought the Eastern Express SU-152 kit and wanted to get some more info on the use of this beast at Kursk. I did some checking in the books "Kursk" and Russian Tanks Of WWIi both by Motor Books and found that about 12 units were present, but can't find out what unit they were attached too. Does anyone have any other information that my shed some light on this subject?
Thanks

Hi, My first time on this site, I love German armor of WWII, and the great tank battles. I found a text titled The Battle Of Kursk by David Glantz and Jonathan House (1999)University Press of Kansas, Glantz is an expert on the subject. In the appendixes on page 327, he lists the 1549th Self-propelled Artillery Regiment as having Su-152mm weapons, attached to the the 5th Guards Tank Army. Onpage 310 of the appendixes, he lists the 1529th Self-propeeled Artillery Regiment (152mm) as attached to the 24th Guards Rifle Corps from the 7th Guards Army. This Corps was facing the German Army Det. Kempf in the South, commanded by Rauss with the 320th, 106, and 198 German Infantry Divisions.
