What Im wondering is if anyone has ever tried a scale model that the CIA would use to plan a rescue mission of a prison camp etc. I was thinking of doing one but did not the scale that would be used really just wanting everyones input on the matter and what I should do to get started.

PFC:
Take a look a book "special Forces, War on Terrorism in Afghanistan" they have a secion on CIA's Special Operations Group in that country. They have both photos and "living" plates of "uniforms."

TIME also did a cover story on these operations, though I don't recall the photos that ran with it, that would have been early 2003 or late 2002. There's also video of CIA operative at Qala-e-Jangi fortress during the uprising there. If I recall from that video, you can pretty much take a talaban figure, stick a bearded western head on it and you're good to go.

Verlinden and warriros both make Taliban/Northern Allinace figures and ICM makes a set of Mujhadeen that can also be converted.

There was an article in FSM a while back about the model builder that worked for the CIA. They had pictures of all kinds of stuff the guy built. They had the scale model of Noriaga's compound if I remember right, that they used for the Panama invasion. Anyway, I will see if I can scare it up. No promises...
