"The M36 mounted a 90mm gun mounted on the hull of the M10 tank destroyer." - true for M36 (well, almost - M36 used M10A1 hull, M36B2 used M10 hull), but M36B1 mounted a 90mm gun on the hull of the M4A3 tank. And this is the subject of the Italeri kit.

They have. Most of their latest releases have a softer material for the band track.
But you have to get the newest reissues.

Sorry to say but even with a nice new decal sheet this runs a poor second to the Academy kit.

*Wish

It says they included new track in the softer cementable plastic material. The Academy kit is still better.

Very much. Just look at the engineering on the M3 gun breech.

They have added the half-roof over the turret though ...
Even if the rest is the same.

My spontaneous question was: Why?
But maybe they think there is a market for it ....

Instead of this needless re-re-release, I'd rather see Tasca/Asuka tackle this vehicle.

yes but it does add one piece not in that in the form of PE Roof overhead armour. Still the poorer option compared to Academy

Having looked at both I'd take the Academy kit and never look back.
