Hello all. I am currently building the Trumpeter 1/16 Jagdtiger with the Pak 80/L55 main armament.

The instructions call for the breech block to be painted dark green. I am assuming they meant Olivgrun or Feldgrau - does anybody know what colour it was? I am doing the interior with a mix of red oxide primer and Elfenbein, but not sure about the Pak 80.

Can anybody assist please?

About the same color as in the Takom models symbol.

Thanks but that's a non-genuine restoration. Cheers.

Found this in an artcle "Panzer Colours" by David Byrden:
"The main gun of a Panzer would usually be painted Ivory along with the rest of the interior. Most German tank guns followed a very similar design, which brought out several working levers and switches on the right hand face of the breech block; this face was left as unpainted steel, presumably well-oiled with light machine oil. The interior of the breech block was also unpainted steel, as was the large lever with a round housing on the bottom right side of it; but most of the breech block was Ivory."

Think I'll go with that unless anybody disagrees?

Well, there was a short period where they painted the interiors all red, but after crew complaints they did switch it back. However, I was under the impression that parts like transmissions and such were in dark green primer from the outsourced factories making those components.

And then again we have pics of breeches in the ivory color as well.
