A quick shot of the Cenaturo. Hope to finish it this weekend and will get more picks up.

I was originally wanting to do a UN version. I have seen some others done that way by others which is why I even bought the kit for. But I am not getting the result I wish I could get do pin washes so far. So I held off with the white for now.

On a different note. OMG I havent been using photobucket in years, and the ads are killing me on it.

Nice build, if I'm correct this is the Spanish variant so a UN vehicle was out of question. Only Italy deployed Centauros in UN white in Lebanon.

yes, very good point. Not sure if I would have caught that as I was thinking only UN instead of the country that sent them.

I few more pics. Still need to address the smoke launchers and some exhaust vent smoke. But other wise, fairly done for me.

This is my second tank finished since xmas. Before that it has been 35 years since I touched in modeling. I was 10 years old on my last build.

The Centauro has been on my "must buy"/"must build" list for a few years. Seeing how your build is coming along only reinvigorated my desire to add it to my stash. Simply stunning paint and weathering!

I really liked its design. Seemed kinda like a squashed Abrams turret.

Looking at the pics I see the MG is missing and two tools. doh!

Hi Kelly, nice build so far! I really like this wheeled vehicle, I just finished my build of this same model a few months ago. Nice engineered kit, minor flaws.

A few things: plus the parts you mentioned are missing, I noticied one more tool, the mirrors, and the mantled cover. This last one has a terrible fit, I can't handle my part to fit properly, so I decide to scrath one to replace it.

I also noticied a bit of silvering on decals. Maybe aplying some decal solution, and a coat of varnish can rfix this.

Good build man. seeya.

Audren, I might get around to just putting the arms without a mirror on the vehicle. I just dont like the look, and seems so many operators are driving without mirrors on the arms at all. The mantled is just awful in its fit. I have mixed feeling of it being on there also because of the fit. How did your come out?

I saw more pics with the mirrors collapsed than without them, but in fact, I don't did a very deep search to build this vehicle.

The cover is the main drawback of this kit (imho), while it's beautiful detailed, he simple don't fit on the mantled. I sanded my to almost a paper thick, and even this way does't fit. Soo, using my prosthetic skills, I fashioned one from steel wire and surgical gloves. Not soo well detailed, but without gaps and the correct shape.

I guess with a bit effort and some materials you are familiarised you can handle this.

okay I did a bit of work on the guy this weekend so some added pics.

But here was how it was last update.

So the problem we touched on was the lack of mantle cover.

So the problem was this booger isnt wide enough for the build and looks goofy.

So after sizing up the guy, getting nerve, I karate chopped him in half. zero fight.

next it was braced. then filled.

and then painted.

Will be working on the mirrors next and MG.
