Why is super-glue needed for construction? It's plastic, isn't it? Small criticism: if you want to make a civilian version, the bumpers, wheel covers, grill, etc. are not chromed, like with 1/24 - 1/25 car kits. It's easier to paint over chromed parts for a military version, than it is to try and get a chrome finish with paint (never going to happen).

Unless you happen to have one of those new chrome silver paint pens.

Some parts are PE, and they are needed to hold some parts... As such, you will need CA glue.

I will try and figure out the chrome stuff, I will dig deeper into that matter (and suspension mistakes during the build blog), until this is of concern, a solution will have been found, I bet.

I was thinking about Alclad also. I might just get Alclad and the foil and see which one is better. Thanks for the input guys!

Bare Metal Foil is the closest you'll get to chrome plating. No kind of paint, including the chrome paint pens, will really look like chrome plating. Bare Metal Foil: http://www.bare-metal.com/bare-metal-foil.html Not being a car modeller, I've never had the need to use it - looks good!

This Youtube film shows how (rather) easy it is to get chrome foil on the parts.
I guess the biggest challenge is to find this foil.
Advises where to purchase it in Europe are most welcome.

In my opinion, at this scale, real chrome on parts looks very unrealistic. That doesn't mean you are limited to military finishes though. I've seen a couple of comparisons posted here that show how good Alclad can look. I think when you take account for distance, chrome and gloss paint actually look better toned down a bit. A good semi-gloss or satin paint coupled with Alclad metal finishes looks best. This is why pre-finished locomotives in 1/87 scale are always finished with satin paints.
