Anyone know where I can find some pictures of large churches that were bombed in France during WWII? I am looking for rather large churches or cathedrals, enough to where I can make one that will fit about 20 1/35 figures inside and around it.

20 people aint much to fit in a church. In other words, the church you're looking for can be pretty small too.

I know of a small church in Oosterbeek (The Netherlands) that was shot up during Operation Market Garden between September 17 and 25, 1944.

Here are some images dealing with the church I'm talking about.

Oooohhh, that 'inside' pic is very useful Eagle! Especially poignant, is the damaged Choir box and Preacher's Pulpit.

But good reference though!

I've been there last week, and the "September 1944 story" behind this church is something special.....very impressive, overwhelming. Every time I walk around this oldest church in Europe, I really feel like walking on holy ground...ground that should be remembered and respected forever.

The church was the HQ of the "Lonsdale Force" in a last effort to hold positions at Oosterbeek.... Many British Paratroopers lost their lives in and around that church.

I have planned a diorama about this church in the last quarter of this year....just my way to remember....

Try your local library, the internet and books tent to be the best source of reference material. Failing that just use your imagination, Who's to tell you wether it wrong or not?
