While this "armor" does seem ridiculous and it's effectiveness on the modern battlefield is certainly questionable it does serve as a reasonably good camouflage for the given urban environment. If you look at French's picture of the AIFV 25 it blends in with the surroundings pretty well. So, rather than armor it might be cammo. Am I reaching here? Just a thought.

I just like the one with the nice golden eagle, that was previously someone's centerpiece at home, that says "Armor of God".

Definitely a misnomer but sounds better than "Wood of God" I suppose...

A few of those vehicles look as if they could have been built for an episode of "Top Gear", especially the one with the gold eagle on the bow. I can easily picture Jeremy Clarkson rolling around in that one, deliberately bumping into James May's AFV whenever possible....

My personal Fav is second pic where the add on armour also has a second use as a park brake....

Next kit I have that lacks detail or has fit issues is going to be a 'what if this vehicle were used by'...... a few cut up ice-cream sticks, balsa strips, stowage from the spares crate and voila - modern masterpiece..

Of course they do this to their armored vehicles. After all this is what they do the rest their personnel carriers:
