I was checking eBay for anything that could be used for Soviet winter 1941. There is no date on this kit but I assume it would work:

The question I had was that I wanted to represent a particularly cold day, and I wondered if the rear deck of a T-34 tank would get warm even in very cold weather. Yes, the figures are in heavy clothes but I wondered if engine heat would make it to the read deck surface or not.

There's enough metal between you and the engine so you don't get hot. This is a diesel not a gas turbine.
However, troops do not sit on the rear deck screen as air actively blows out of that when the engine is cranked. (There is a tank in White Tiger and one in Liberation with a tarp tied over it and it billows up from the air blowing out.)
