Looks very good. What company is the Humvee from? Is there much scratchbuilding involved? And the figures are Dragon right?

Looks good, Cardinal. I especially like the stowage on the Humvee. Were the ruck sacks scratchbuilt or were they part of a specific kit?

lovely work, Cardinal. I like your dusting and weathering. Good stowage.
You may want to give those spare tires a closer look : the seam between the two wheel halves still shows. Besides that : great dio !

Thanks for the comments guys. My reference pictures captions them as mostly of the 5th SpecFor that operated in Iraq during OIF. The Figures are from dragon & the Hummer is an Italeri M998 Desert Patrol altered to look like the one's that the SF used. The stowage rack at the rear of the hummer was scratch built from styrene channels. The ruck sacks, ammo boxes, duffle bags, bed rolls, water & fuel can, helmets came from the Dragon M1A1 HA, Verlinden & Legend kits. The MRE boxes were from Extra Detail. The tarps on the side of the roof were made from tissue paper. The combat identification tarps on the side, front & rear are aluminum foil and lastly, the tie down straps were made from painters masking tape.
I had some problem with my ground work which was made from Celluclay. The Celluclay shrunk after it dries so I have to re-touch it several times when cracks bagan to develop especially on the sides of the base.
The spare tires were from a Hobbycraft humvee. Regarding the seams on the spare tires, well new tires seems to have seems too and maybe I wanted to have my spare tires new.
Anyway I'm glad that I finished this dio. It's been over two years since I did one. Thanks again guys. Regards. :-)

the detailing of the Humvee and the posing of figures is very good. This is very good diorama but i will criticize a few points in your permission: :-)
as i see in those photos;there is a green tone on the uniforms .not sure this is OO for OIF specs figures...and some footprints and wheel tracks would be good on the ground

With such a long time between dio's I'd offer a couple of things to think about with the next one. Work on vehicle tracks, just some dusty ruts where the Humvee drove into the scene. Also, work on scuffing up the ground where the figures exited the Humvee and too up positions.
Now - I'd like to say that you did a fantastic job on the Humvee, it looks great. The dusting is very convincing. I like all the detail and 'stuff' in it. Very nice. The figuers are a gret set and really add to the sence of ambush in the scene. Well done.

Congratulations on a job well done!!!
except spare tires, and missing foot prints, i would personaly go for dusting their uniforms a bit more, but hey, its just me
In any case, excellent work!

As I have mentioned I had some trouble of the Celluclay ground work. I did put tire tracks but I guess with the retouching that I had done it got covered up. Regarding the footprints, that I intentionally omitted because of the Celluclay problem.
Yup, the figures sure do need some dusting. Anyway thanks for the comments guys. This experience adds up some more to my knowledge on building dios. Regards.

Very nice work. I wish I could get my tarps to look as good as yours. I just can't seem to keep them from looking like glue-soaked tissue, which they are. Excellent work on the stowage. Congratulations on a show stopper!
