I have the old Revell M-34 Truck and would like to include it in a Korean War Dio but am not sure if the truck was issued to troops that early. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Stephen - I'll check my books at home tonight, but I believe the M34 was in development in 1951. I don't remember if it saw service in Korea. There was another model Deuce in use during that time period - the M135. The M211 was another 1950's era truck, but I believe too late for Korea - it's circa 1955.

Stephen - I looked all over for photographic evidence the M34 served during the Korean War - but couldn't find any. It's like the original M41 Walker Bull Dog, it did get to Korea, but so late in the conflict that it's hard to say it was a part of the war.
I could only find the CCKW's and M135's in photographs during that time.

Found some background at JED.
Here is a quote from their M-35 series page:
This 6x6 truck series was developed in response to Joint Army Navy Specification JAN-T-712, dated 17 December 1948. Reo completed preliminary work on this series truck by April 1949, and the requirements were finalized in May of the same year. Pre-production pilot models were quickly tested, and by 1950 production of these vehicles, then considered "interim" was in full swing.
Since the M-34 is the single tandem rears it very well could have been in Korea. I’ve seen photos of single tandem 2 1/2t and 1 1/2t before, just can’t vouch for the time or places.
It’s not like there is a history in the beginning of the TM’s. :-) LOL

Thanks for the info guys. I have came across a DOD article on the net that talks about maintance on the M-34 truck dated 1951.
It is only a few lines long with a saying that goes something like Maintanence and Up keep on your M-34 Truck so I think I will
go for it.
Thanks
