Hey Everybody,
I want to do a dio of a very familiar movie we have all seen Saving Private Ryan the crossing of th bridge. You know when the Germans were crossing over and leveling the Rangers and Airborne. So that bridge is a piece of work and I want to tackle one more dio before I join the Army and leave boot camp.

What I need to know :
What kind of measurments do I have convert and how do I do it?(I warn you I am A DOPE in math so please idiot terms if will LOL LOL)

I want to scratch build the bridge should I make Individual stone molds and place individually or carve out of a big piece of plaster?

I have many books on WW2 and destroyed Bridges and buildings so one is covered no need for pictures.

What materials will I need besides Lots of Plaster of Paris?

How big of a base board?

Any other ideas will be greatly accepted.

I want to include two Tigers and a bunch of German Infantry also the overwhelmed US Soldiers.

What kits to use I have many Dragon kits mainly US forces and British. So definitly Germans but which one and how many?

i will have sketch of what planning on doing as soon as I get a scanner and find out how to post some pictures.

Thanx

AJ

As far as I remember the Germans never crossed the bridge. The Germans were supposed to take the bridge. The Tiger was destroyed on the bridge by a P51 and US armored troops quickly relieved the paras and crossed over.

This links to a downloadable calculator for modelers. Makes scaling a lot easier.
