Looking to build my Mini-art T-54B as this vehicle:

http://www.moxing.net/bbs/data/attachment/forum/201605/02/114407il555eydy4545plk.jpg

no kmt mounts, mantlet mounted IR searchlight. I think it has starfish wheels? It clearly has the larger tanks on rear hull, would it still have the mounts for the smaller tanks lower down or just the unditching log? Anyone care to discuss?

Regards,
Andy

Andy,

I am working on a similar tank, one that was upgraded to T-55 standard.

From what I have been able to figure out the smaller rear drums were removed and replaced by the larger drums. The welded on bolt attachment points were probably left on, and the unditching log was mounted like the T-55's.

Sometimes the fender bins and spare fuel tanks were replaced, sometimes they were not. I read on one site that the T-54 was rebuilt the same as the T-55, AM, AMV etc.

Thanks,
Randy

Thanks for the reply. I had a wee think on this and then realised I could just build it with the smaller tanks and no KMT mounts as this is how it would have looked before any rebuilding. I then found another pic showing an early vehicle in just this configuration so will build that.

Regards,
Andy
