Anyone that's built this beast, what paints did you use to replicate the original "Cat yellow" base paint that will show under the IDF paint after weathering? I would like to avoid buying a $10+ can of Cat touch-up spray, for just an ounce or so of paint. Would be good if I planned to build another 15 or 20 more kits! Yeah, that'll happen. So any info will be appreciated!! Thanks, Swede........

Find a construction company that uses Cat equipment. It's not rare. The AMT D8 kit calls it Humbrol trainer yellow.

Recent Cat yellow is darker and slightly to the beige side than their original construction bright yellow - find a dealer or a piece of equipment nearby - they are everywhere- and bring some yellow, some red and dessert sand or Tamiya dark yellow and play with the colors on a piece of sheet styrene or white card . I use a box of toothpicks and count the drops to establish the ratios . Start out with say 10 drops yellow then add one drop of what you think it needs at a time and keep track of what you have done - a fun field trip on a nice day
Hope this may help - Richard
