I have got a good price for HB Defender XD Wolf WMIK kit at my LHS. Now I wonder if there are any good references of both m.g. and MILAN equiupped Wolf out on the net. I have noticed that HB includes a large box in the the MILAN version, something that makes me wonder.

Just to expand on this a bit...

What I didn't mention in the ML thread was that the wheel track is too wide and that the body sits too high on the axles.

You need to chop off the top 'coil' of each of the coil springs to lower the the sit of the vehicle a bit and also remove about 2mm from the length of the axles so that the wheels fit further inside the wheel arches.

After I'd finished the Milan carrier version I built a more complex R-WMIK. The progress shots of that may also be helpful to you. For this second project I modified the WMIK roll cage in a better way and moved the weapons ring forward.

Hi John, thanks for the insight. I plan on bulding a R-WMIK+ after some photos from Tankograd Militärfahrzeug.

An R-WMIK+ is a bigger challenge than the original R-WMIK because you need to make the whole rear body wider - everything from behind the cab. How much wider?

If you check out the R-WMIK+ you will note that the rear wheel arches do not have the usual rubber 'eyebrow' around the edge. The rear body panels have been extended out to what was the outer edge of those eyebrows.

I took the photo below back in 2013 - I've highlighted where the rear body widens. The cab doors close at a slight angle to accommodate the wider body, rather than lying flat along the vehicle.

After checking the pics, I have some more questions. The boxes on the front fenders are radio antennas or ECM antennnas? I noticed also the COMROD antenna mount. I guess the green box/device on the right fender is the ECM "generator"? Where is teh vehicles radio mounted?. I guess I could install on my model Live Resins H&K Grenade Maschinegun instead of the .50 cal.?

Yes - the boxes on the fenders of the R-WMIK+ are part of the ECM suite. However, on earlier WMIKs, the Clansman radio system was still in use so the radio aerials were mounted on square TUAAM boxes. The newer Bowman system uses a more 'American-style' aerial mount on the fender.

The Bowman radios are mounted in the rear of the vehicle along the left (passenger) side. I have a couple of photos (not mine) somewhere of the mounting frames that I'll dig out when I get home tonight. What you will struggle to find are any photos of the actual Bowman radio units in place.

Yes, the H&K GMG is the standard British weapon of this type and is often fitted to both the WMIK and the Jackal/Coyote.
