Main difference is in fire control systems:
AM was produced in Soviet Union,it carried the Wolna FCS, while
AM2B was produced in Czechoslovkia and it carried the localy developed Kladivo FCS.
Some other differencies occur because of different equipment-AM2B has a "wind mast" on the turret, that is not present in AM.

AM2B was used mainly in Czechoslovakia and former DDR, while AM was used in Soviet Union and the other Warsaw Pact countries-except Poland, which also used localy developed FCS on the AM's it produced under license.
To make the mess bigger-Bulgaria even choose to modify 300 Soviet-built tanks from its inventory to AM standard with Kladivo, instead of Wolna FCS, effectively creating another hybrid

Your question is one that I had wondered about also Richard, and thank you for the information Angel. After seeing your post Richard, I did a little searching, and in addition to the Kladivo, and the wind sensor mast, the turret hatches are different. There may be other visual differences, hopefully someone with more knowledge of the kits can point them out.
