...who makes great looking 1/35 scale Dshk and AK-47 spent shells? Plastic is fine but brass is preferable. I need a lot so reasonable pricing is preferable. I heard of Mission models but checked out their website and I do not see any actual model materials on there.

Mission Models only sells their new paint and finishing supplies now. They no longer make any model accessories. AK-47 spent shells may be too small to manufacture on a lathe. Many people use flush cut nippers and cut their own from appropriate sized wire.

As far as I know only Mission ever made .50"/12.7mm rounds and cases. That suggests to me that the process was uneconomic for the number sold, otherwise someone else would be doing it.

It's unfortunate because I need huge quantities for a diorama but buying turned cases for that (or even chopped up brass rod) would be unfeasible and I'd never have been able to justify the quantity required, even to myself. I'll probably end up chopping styrene rod but the necked cases are just too hard to depict, never mind the bases.

OK. Thanks. I'll just have to chop up some rods.
