I read the Soviet dark green paint actually get darker when exposed to sunlight. Or is this some urban legend?

So far it has been something of a myth. In restorations, when they unbolt painted pieces, the 4BO has generally been darker underneath. This does not apply to vehicles pulled from rivers and swamps, and especially peat bogs, where water chemistry can affect the paint in different ways.
