Please take a look at this link, this shows 2 Strykers with additional armor in front. Is this custom built or perhaps part of the new V-hull types of Stryker ?
since they both have the WIN-T up-grade. (photo - 10-2014) I'd conjecture that the CIP's are ontop of the extra armor a "double v-hull" armor package comes with. It looks to push the front bumper a bit more forward than - without.
I have seen differing bolt patters on the frontal lower "diamond-ish" shaped armor panels, that helped distinguish 'single' v.s. 'Double "v" ' . . .(( but my knowledge is web based! ))
Life,, IS, unfortunately...
measured by the number of breaths we take,
but the moments that take our breath away,
are the moments that we wish;.,.,
Eternity remembers Of us.
Let me repeat: the Strykers in the image posted at the top of this thread are not DVH, they are older standard hull ones. And the panel at the front is CIP.
Here is the same type of CIP on a different Stryker:

i don't know if this matters or not but I found a pretty simple way to make the front cip panels...afv clubs strykers come with an extra sprue and on it is a front mount for the tow bar on the mgs strykers...I used this with the front details sanded off and a Tamiya cip panel for the hood of their hmmwvs...little bit of cutting, gluing, and sanding and mounted on the front mount and it looks the part...if I can figure out how to post photos now ill upload one soon
