Not an M2 machine gun. More like .30 cal. Not easy to run with a .50 cal receiver and barrel on a shoulder......

If you look closely the body parts are VERY similar, but NOT identical. I would say the CMK sculptor used Alpine figs as a model to sculpt his own, at the most, but most likely did not cut up Alpine figures to incorporate into them.

These are slightly modified rip-offs of Alpine figure parts. Much of their line is a mis-match of other pieces of Alpine figures. Alpine has confirmed this on this very site; he has also stated he contacted CMK but they ignored him. Sad to see armorama supporting this co . just because they happen to be "established"...

I have looked closely and to me those figures are doggy to me.
Make your own figure outright don't modify someone else's parts or close to. Alpine is a great figure company which took over where Verlnden and Warriors stopped. I like to support honest companies not recasters/chop and change ......whatever you want to call it. I won't buy from CMK anymore due to these types of figures. I know others will think differently but these types of works reduce the real sculptors income and stops production.

This figure CAD is based on a scan of Alpine figures. Certainly unethical not to give the original creator credit.
But what are all those bubbles in the fur caps of those heads?

When an AM resin company makes, for instance, a Sherman turret with raised bustle, cheek armor, and deleted pistol port, the guy isn't going to scratch build an entirely new turret. If it's for a Dragon kit, the guy will take the Dragon turret and scratch modify it for the master. I don't see how this much different than the figures. In both cases somebody is using somebody else's intellectual property for their own gain.
In a series of postings on Armorama several years ago, a 1/72 armor resin caster, who freely admitted using a modified Dragon kit as a master, wanted to sue another resin caster for using a modified version of his work for a further different version. Isn't this just a case of the "pot calling the kettle black"?

No not the same, a Sherman turrent has a dimension/s so they are going to be, look the same, using a leg of someones figure with the same creases is totally different. Sculpting a leg to look real is an art and takes time( so does a Sherman don't get me wrong). Not trying to start something but I personally think promotion of this type of work is wrong.

No it's not. In this case Alpine has created their own resin art from a bottle. No other manufacturer's material or ideas. CMK then buys the figures on the sly, cuts them up and makes "frankenmasters" out of them. They are rip off artists. I would not be surprised if all their other stuff is also recast .. but feel free to buy cheap Eastern European black market knock offs if that's your thing. But don't be surprised years from now when there are no CMK figures because Alpine decided to close its doors...

Totally agree, with all respect for those who produce inanimate objects such as tanks etc ... that have shapes and dimensions well defined a figurine is another thing, I personally buy nothing from a company that exploits the work of others with no respect

CMK has obviously taken the old saying "good artists borrow, great artists steal" to heart.
But CMK is only at the point of borrowing, not stealing. Because the whole point of stealing is to do it so well no one ever catches you. That's what makes an artist who steals great.

Whatever makes you sleep at night I guess. Personaly I think they are a bunch of toerags
And your definition of stealing is incorrect. Stealing is unlawfully taking others' property.
