Interesting! I'm building the Tamiya one now. It falls together with typical Tamiya simplicity. But the decals are boring so I'm looking around for a new scheme and markings.

------------------------------------------------------------
Great project Omar!
Just one clarification, in honor to fidelity: since 1993 the official name of the Regiment is "Light Cavalry Regiment 15 Libertador Simón Bolívar".
This Regiment was formed from the "Armored Cavalry Exploration Detachment 161" - created in 1981-, plus the material and personnel of the "Mountain Cavalry Exploration Squadron 8" - which was dissolved in 1992 -.
On the other hand, according to the year of the model you are going to build, keep in mind that the EA - Argentine Army- kept adding modifications and updates to the original French design, so it is advisable to work from photos of a particular actual vehicle.
I am not an expert about EA AMX-13's, so I cannot give you much help in terms of details, but if you need we can try to research together.
Good luck with the model!

(Thanks Hugo, all the information will be welcome, my intention was to do it with the version that comes out in the box, although I started to Argentinate it to make it as real as possible. I will follow your advice and select a specific photo so as not to make mistakes.
Best regards, Omar)

Dear, I did not have the model of tamiya present, since it did not come out in the Argentine version, and I was really interested in doing this variant.
The Takom model, unlike Tamiya's, is mainly in the plastic they use, the Takom model is much softer, but workable, so if you like the version so far it is advisable.
Some more steps:
What if the links of the caterpillar you have to work them enough to get them to fit correctly
Regards

Great. I'm planning to build the dutch version. I was a gunner on one, in 1979.
Are these tracks included in the kit? Are the PE parts also included?

Nice progress Omar, Did you mention that there was a problem with the tracks, what was the issue? I think I may get some aftermarket tracks for mine.

Hello
It is an interesting model, simple, but with better detail, compared to the old Heller. Tracks and PE are included in the kit.
The tracks are difficult to put on the model, but if you have patience you can have a good result.

A future idea of Diorama for this little tank ?
If i remember well, no AMX 13 seen in Falklands war, seems only panhard 90 AML.
Nice assembly : )

Hi Oliver
It`s correct, the AMX 13 tanks didn`t were to the islands. Only a few Phanhard.
I think to put it in a little base.

You build then paint. I build some, paint some, finish building then weather. Your way seems easier in some respects (just build the thing and get on with it) but the paint it all at the end panics me. Please try and show some of your techniques for the hard to reach places and painting the track and road wheel when they are already installed. I have a Panther F and want to try it your way.

Hi Omar, what paints did you use ? Was it the Ammo of Mig Argentinian AFV set?

Hi Omar -
Just saw this thread - that's one fabulously finished and painted AMX-13. Very cool.

Is that the kit MG Omar, did you make any modifications? It looks great, just like the rest of your build!
