Interesting. Lebanon anyone?
I found a nifty feature on the forums called HIDE USER.
I was going to try it on myself and go stealth, but it only works on other users.

Wasn't someone just wishing for a state of the art Merkava I kit? Here it is!

Well this is bad news... I don't really need another kit, but this may be my first Takom purchase....

I didn't see this coming. It's about time to replace the ancient Tamiya kit. Although I would've been (much) happier to see a decent Mk.2 with anti-skid molded on, still great news!

And I was so close to ordering the older Tamiya kit a few days ago! This is a great release. Now, if they can tackle the Challenger 1 next. . .

Saw this, over on FB. I lost my Merk.III and a few other kits, in a move. This may just fit the bill as a replacement.

Uh oh - The Mk. I might well be the kit that lures me into building IDF vehicles, even with so many other things to build!

What is the difference between a Mk.1 and Mk.1 Hybrid?

A lot. The latter has almost all features of the Merkava II: improved transmission and side skirts, enlarged exhaust on the right side, turret chainball protection, rear storage baskets. However, the late Mk.I still has the commander operated 60mm external mortar carried over from the early variants, while the Mk.II is already equipped with the loader operated internal one. The Mk.II has an improved firing system as well. In other words, the Mk.I Hybrid is externally actually much closer to the Mk.II than to its predecessor.

Thanks for that Israel, your explanation really clears that up. Now we will have to see how the kit measures up

The Hybrid also has smoke grenade launchers and antiskid surfaces.
Also the mounting points of the side skirts were similar to the MkII, not the simple ones of the MkI.

Could have been me at least, must have kit. Now what to do with the several Tamiya kits in the stash?

Maybe now, my Tamiya Merkava I can be my 'painting test bed', if I ever get around to building it. Guess for that purpose, I don't need to put all the details on, maybe just the main hull and turrets parts, with road wheels for more weathering experience.
