HI Guys! A few days ago, I decided to start my new project. Here is what I plan to build:
Yes, it's Abrams SEP v 2. But it will not be a Dragon 3556 model kit. Here's my starter pack:
M1A2 Abrams from RYE FIELD MODEL 5007 and conversion set DEF MODEL 35030.
When I decided to buy a DEF MODEL conversion kit, I had no idea if it would fit to the RFM kit.
I was very happy when it turned out that conversion, works very well with the RFM kit.
I started assembling the model, from the lower hull, but I was very curious, how the CROWS II, will be look like on the model. I think it looks good, but what do you think?
After I set up CROWS, I started working with the interior. First I started with the main weapon:
Then, I painted it and mounted it:
Then I started working with the ammunition compartment:
After several hours of gluing and painting, the ammunition compartment is finished:
And here, I'm testing, if everything fits
I hope, you will like it. Enjoy. I will be back soon.

I recently bought a Academy Tusk just so I could take the CROWS out of it and use on a M1A1. Came close to buying a live resin one, but for the cost I could get the whole tank. So I understand what your going for as i am doing the same right now in another brand.
Looking forward to your other updates.

DEF Models V2 conversion is far superior over the DML kit.

Nice work! I modelled this same "Das Dupree" from the Dragon kit.

Lots of Youtube video on line from their training in Germany. Has a great back story as the loader was a woman from a truck maintenance unit that stepped up to fill in when they left Texas. I will be following this as looks like you are going above and beyond!

Nice! I love the breech detail too. I will hold off a bit on a M-1 build until either a M1A2 with LP CROWS comes out or a M1A1 with the USMC SCWS. The current CROWS mounting on the M1 is terrible IMHO.

Hello Grzegorz,
regarding the kit interior, it looks like it includes digital display screens for the driver but does it also include all parts needed to do an A1 and an A2 interior ?

Sean
Yes, the kit includes both the analog A1 interior parts and the digital A2 interior parts. It is really a nice kit.

Looks fine. If it were USMC I'd have to build one, too.

Doug, Am I overlooking something or doesnt the Academy Tusk model work for you? It can be built in M1a2 with crows without having to add the tusk armour in version I or II.
Based on a Army unit in South Korea 2013.

Why not Academy kit ? Maybe, because i think that, the RFM kit is lot better?

I wasn't addressing quality, the point was there is a maker making a M1A2 with a crows. No?

HI guys. I have nearly finished the building of my SEP v2. Just need a few p-e parts and that`s it. I have decided, that my model will not be painted in NATO camouflage, but it will be a desert one. I found a decals from Echelon, perfect for my project:
And I would like to do exactly the same tank, as on the picture above, "C`mon Man".
That`s way I have a question. Is it possible to find more pictures of this particular tank anywhere? And here is my model:
Thanks in addvance for any information.
