I know that aircraft subjects are not often mentioned on this forum, but I wonder whether anyone has any idea where I can source 1/144-scale seated pilot figures (both WW2 and modern)?
The only company I can find is OzModels. I believe (as the name implies) that these are based in Australia. While they do list a couple of items, they appear to be fairly expensive (when you add the shipment cost for delivery to the UK).
The alternative would be to convert seated civilian of military figures, but I cannot find anything suitable for these either.
Any suggestions?

Preiser produce a small number of 1/144 scale figure sets, I'm not sure if they include any seated figures but you may be able to modify them?

Yes, that seems to be the only option. Obviously, much of the detail will be obscured behind the canopy glass ... particularly in this scale.

Sounds like a strange idea, but I plan to create a diorama incorporating various 1/144-scale aircraft (with pilots) along with 1/35-scale figures ... a Radio Controlled Aircraft Display ... with this scale combination, the aircraft would equate to roughly 1/4-scale. For those who think this is rather large for an RC model, check out the online videos ... spectacular pieces!

have you tried sourcing Ozmods figures from UK vendors on Ebay?
There are also numerous options on shapeways, but those tend to be more rather than less expensive.
I like the idea of models within models.

Have you browsed on Shapeways? Some vendors print to other scales. Perhaps a 1/72 scale figure downsized to 1/144 would work?
