Would anyone happen to know if Skif Models from Russia are any good?

I have been wanting to do a Light Rocket Landing Complex 10SW Strela for a while.

Thanks in advance.

Skif is hit or miss. I've seen some of their kits that are good and others that are not so good. I don't know anything about the particular kit that you are talking about though.

I've got a couple and they look OK (T-55A and T-64b). Typical eastern European, fine details, vague attachment points. Can be built up to nice representations with some work. They do produce vehicles that no one else does.

I'm building the Skif MT-LB right now - and I like it.

I would guess that the kit is typical Skif... not to bad probably an average of 3 out 5 for details, 2 out of five for fit and 2 out of 5 for engineering. I tried to build the BTR 152K I'll finish someday when I am feeling like a big challenge.

Here's a nice shot that shows what needs to be done to bring this kit up to snuff -

The model in the photo is by Steve Zaloga. You can see more shots of it in the model gallery over at Missing Lynx.

Later,
Tim

Thanks guys. I have asked some of the people around where I live and they say the same thing. Hit or Miss!! But, I found the kit for about $15, so I guess I might give it a try. Besides, I could use a good challenge. I appreciate all you's guys.
