Can anybody point me a direction for PE plate with round holes (Lochblech in German). Checked Accurate Armour site but nothing.
What is the precise English designation of such material?

There isn't one, only perforated plate, which isn't specific as to the shape of the perforations. Not that it helps you anyway as most model products seem to have names that are just the computer translations of the product's eastern European or Asian name.

Hans-Hermann,

try these chaps out.

http://www.ppdltd.com/

Scottish company also, Glasgow based i believe. they do standard/stock sheets (A4) of variois meshes including circular hole (in various materials and thicknesses) and not overly expensive either. not sure if they are on their website, but email them and they will send you a list of it.

i have these myself and company is highly reccomended, they also do custom PE which i have also got from them with parts drawn up on basic TurboCAD, again highly reccomend and if only holes, may not be too expensive to do a custom sheet for your specific needs.
hope this is of use.

chris.

Hi guys,
thanks for the hints. Just was contacted by Rob Skipper, he recommended me TOGA Armor from Eduard, or shearing foil from an electric shaver.

I don't know what thickness or size you're looking for, but I built a diorama of a 1/32 Boeing F4B parked on a carrier deck outrigger using perforated circuit board which has been featured over on Large Scale Planes. The decking material I used for the catwalk is available from any good electronics supplier-- here in the US, I buy mine through Radio Shack. It's a perforated fiber board sheet, glueable with cyanoacrylate or epoxy, accepts most paints, and is easily cut and sandable. It's especially good if you need a large quantity, since its relatively cheap and accessible. Here's a link to the article so you can see how it was used:

1088 holes on a 31 mm by 33 mm area. Will be the radiator grille for a CAT 612 B Scraper.

Circuit board probably won't work then-- that's a really fine mesh pattern.

In the US you can get various perforated sheets in stainless steel, brass, and aluminum. They are often used in filter elements for hydraulics, lubricants, etc.
