Ive got modelcollects 1/72 m983a2 with m870a1 semi trailer. And the mrs bout me balaton models 1/72 resin US D9R dozer for it. As ive read up its mainly used by the engineer of the US army i thought great but im not finding a pic anywhere of this big rig hauling the D9R. Ive read the trailer has max load of 40tons but the D9R is 54tons?? Plus with a quick dry fit straight from box before washing the frames for its wheels sticks over the sides.. Would this stil be suitable? Ive found one pic of the D9R on the US m1000 trailer only. Ive seen pics of some other engineering equipment but non that are available in 1/72. Could anyone point out what loads it would carry ?
Thanks in advance

Since the M983/M870 combo is called a Light Equipment Tractor or LET, I think a D9 is way to heavy. I seen this combo used by combat engineers, so maybe a D7 dozer or John Deere tracked excavator is more feasible.

Just checked Model Collect site and noted that the M983/M870 combo is not correct. The M870 semitrailer requires a tractor with a winch to pull up and let down the semitrailer. The Model Collect kit is only good for hauling the Patriot semitrailer.

Thanks HermannB
I do remember the instructions does have a winch wheel of sort but cant remember where this is placed on tractor unit. Not sure if it the correct winch!?!
Is there anyone who makes a d7 dozer in 72nd scale ?

Here's maybe a load option (but it's rather basic and would be considered as a starting point for a major detailing work to improve its look...)

1/72 and 1/35 scale is not a good scale for construction equipment. One will have more kits/models in 1/87 and 1/50 scale.
@ Frenchy: That dozer kit looks good, but today the Army uses D7G dozer with the hi-mounted sprocket.

Let's say it's a museum piece
On a side note, the US Army still uses the older versions :
"U.S. Soldiers of Alpha Company, 54th Brigade Engineer Battalion, 173rd Airborne Brigade maneuver their D7 Bulldozers into excavating positions while conducting an obstacle building scenario during exercise Saber Junction 16 at the U.S. Army’s Joint Multinational Readiness Center (JMRC) in Hohenfels, Germany, April 5, 2016."
"
"Alaska Guardsman Sgt. Jeffery Enderle, a horizontal equipment supervisor with the 207th Engineer Utility Detachment, operates a D7 dozer during a runway extension project at Innovative Readiness Training Old Harbor, Alaska, April 19, 2017"
"Cpl. Luis Ballester is an Army Reserve Soldier with the 841st Engineer Battalion, 926th Engineer Brigade. Here he operates a D7 dozer, smoothing out riprap for a tank firing position. He works as a heavy equipment operator at the Joint National Training Center, Cincu, Romania as part of Resolute Castle 17, an operation which builds relationships with the NATO alliance and enhances its capacity for joint training and response to threats within the region."(07.29.2017)
