Hello all,
I got the metal barrel set for the Shilka, which comes with four aluminum barrels and four brass rods. My question is, how in the world does one bend the brass rods to the precise shape that the plastic kit ones are in? How does one make all 4 identical?
Thanks!

Like a splint. Tape all 4 together side by side. Clamp something across where the first bend point will be. I have a small metal ruler and a bock of wood that fits along the shaft between the turned ends. I put the taped barrels across the wood and a metal ruler on the top then clamp them to my bench with the end to be bent sticking out. Carefully bend all 4 together. When in the right position, carefully reposition the clamp further down the shaft to the second bend point and bend that. This should ensure 4 perfectly identical bends.

I did it exactly as you described. A hold-and-fold tool helped a lot and it worked very well.
