What's going on with the tank in pic 1442? Haven't seen those roof-top sensors before....

Thanks for these great pictures!! They truly are invaluable to modellers!!
I am building a Dragon M60 w/ERA and have corrected the hull and ordered the Orange Hobby M68 gun.
I want to fit Merkava 1 tracks so I guess I'm building a Magach 6M? Please excuse my lack of knowledge but this IDF stuff is all new to me. I'm currently reading up on the Tiran story and boy oh boy that is a long one!!
What else should I do to get a fairly accurate representation of a 6M, if that is what this model will become? I particularly like pics 243 and 244.

Nikos, is the FCS the ONLY difference between the Magach 6B 'Gal'and the 6M ('Gal' vs. 'Nachal Oz', respectively)?

First of al, I am no expert, I made this table by looking at photos and exhanging info online and using reference published in various books.
Something I noticed just right now:
The 6R has the original turret basket and not the larger IDF variant. I will correct it and repost the table.

The 6M is based on the M60 slick whilst the 6B Gal on the M60A1. But the configuration is almost identical except the FCS, as you correctly stated. Nikos, is the FCS the ONLY difference between the Magach 6B 'Gal'and the 6M ('Gal' vs. 'Nachal Oz', respectively)?

The device seen in the turret-basket in picture #1463 is a vehicle-board water generator: http://water-gen.com/products/defense-applications/vehicle-atmospheric-water-generation-unit/

Is the vehicle in #1463 somekind of testbed or an operational vehicle?
It has the older style Merkava 3 tracks and it is the first and only photo of a Merkava 3 Dalet I have seen with these tracks.

Judging by the serial number, it's an early-production example; probably only used for demonstration purposes these days.

Israel correct me if I am wrong:
Early production vehicles did not have a loader's hatch and are usually seen without the .50 cal on the mantlet.
Later production vehicles had a loader's hatch and were equiped with a .50 cal.
Sometime along the earlier variants got retrofitted with the loader's hatch, is that correct?

All correct
Initially, the Mk.4 was designed without loader's hatch to maximize armor integrity, however later studies proved that the advantage of the stronger armor was largely offset by the reduced chance of the loader to escape the vehicle. Some of these early variants were later retro-fitted with loader's hatch.
Generally, the omission of the 0.50 cal on the early variants was due to the fact that it's (mainly) operated by the loader; it was introduced later as part of the LIC upgrade package, however, there were (are?) early variants also without loader's hatch but with 0.50 cal mounted above the gun.
