Spike-MR launch from unmanned-turreted Namer

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TiYqKsT7KFQ#action=share

very small launch signature

I noted that too. Impressive. Is this version a test rig or in production?

Maybe I'm just old and jaded but I still don't feel that those big, bulky unmanned turrets (similar to the Stryker Dragoon & 105mm versions) are the way to go. Just feel that tankers need unrestricted 360 degree viability. Especially if they are fighting in urban terrain.

The M1128 Stryker Mobile Gun System does not have a unmanned turret it has a crew of 2 gunner and commander

I wonder why the IDF decided not to give the loader the 'compulsory' FN MAG after his hatch was reintroduced on later Mk.4s (and retrofitted on early examples). Maybe the new doctrine calls for him to be buttoned-up all time under operational conditions...?

Those are some great pictures, thanks for posting. Idle thought on Trophy (and I know I won't get a real answer here) - wonder if it's effective against ATGM's that come down vertically, like the Javelin? You would think that the exploding munition and ATGM would still put any unbuttoned crewmembers at risk. Do IDF tankers still fight unbuttoned as SOP these days?

Keep those pics coming!!

Good question. Rafael, the developer of 'Trophy' claims the system can deal with 'high-elevation threats' but based on the launch-pad angle and the fact that the 'Trophy' destroys incoming AT rockets/missiles just a few meters from the tank, I would say it isn't.

Perhaps this is owed to the fact that the commander's mg can be moved around almost 270 degrees and covers both tank sides.

Also if you take a close look at the loader's hatch position and what is fitted around it at the turret roof it would be difficult to mount an mg effectively

Thank you Israel. And if you look closely, 1744, there is a Puma AFV with “carpet” system and mine roller. Suppose to be coming as a kit from hobby boss. Nice.

I'd love to see some on the M113 Zelda and it's evolution, especially the interior.....
