I personally haven't tried them but I have a friend who swears by MRP...kind of expensive in the US...8$ bottles

Yes.
No issues with armor. I bought the typical german three-color camo colors from MrP. Have used them without issue. I really like using their red primer as an undercoat for chipping, as it is very strong and bonds well to plastic.
Many of their colors have a somewhat satin semi-gloss finish, so you may want to put a more dull finish over them for some techniques...
