I am tinkering with the HobbyBoss BJ2022 Yongshi kit. Planning on making it up as a Peoples Armed Police vehicle in the Xinjiang area. The kit has a color plate that is suppose to be CAPF 3 tone desert camo. I have seen one photo with this scheme but it looks suspiciously like a manufacturers ad shot. The other reference to it is in AK Interactive's Chinese Power book, but no info is given on it. And there is no reference to actual colors. Plate looks like sand / red brown / khaki. My own thought is the colors would be the standard PLA desert colors , but not in the digital pattern. Thoughts? Also, any clue on radio / antennae fit? I have found only two photos of BJ2022s with visible radio fits. One, leading a convoy, has a large pot and at least 2 meter antennae mounted on the lower edge of the windshield. The other, there is a satellite dish sitting on the hood (bonnet) .... Guys trying to get the days football match from BBC, maybe. Only other thing close was a BJ 80 (MB G-Wagen clone) with an antennae mount on the upper left corner of the shell. (BJ2022's hard top seems removable. Wouldn't seem an option. I'd think next to tail lights on left rear, or on one of the rear quarter panels. Lastly, any ideas where I can find decals for the Chinese characters on the sides of CAPF vehicles?

Very unusual colors for the People's Liberation Army you rarely see.Are the decals custom made by MAV?Everything does look great.

Yes, Zane made them up for me. colors are PLA issue. I've seen photos of vehicles with a digital version in Xinjaing area and along the India border. I found 1 photo of a BJ 2022 with this non-digital version, but it might be a civilian vehicle. People's Armed Police is not PLA. They are a militia (for lack of better term) that provides internal security, VIP protection, border patrol and such. In war time they would secure military bases to free up the actual military.

Awesome job on the camo, it looks really good in those colors.
